Halloween is a favorite holiday for both the young and old. What a fun excuse to be able to dress up and go out and have some fun! I used to get so excited about selecting what costume I would wear each Halloween. Now my excitement is even multiplied because I have young children that I get to dress up in Halloween costumes each year.

Our family likes to select a theme each year and then we all dress up accordingly. My daughter is really into Barbie so this year we will go in Barbie outfits. My husband will, of course, wear a Ken costume and my daughter and I will both be different versions of Barbie. We are really look forward it!

My sister used to dress up in a vampire girl outfit every Halloween from when she was 9 years old, all the way up to…well, she still dresses up like a vampiress. Now in our 30′s, whenever Halloween looms near you can find her getting all her black outfits ready for the next two months ahead. I call it her “Gothic Period”.

But now that she had two boys of her own, you’d think she would force them to dress as she does…but she doesn’t. Her boys think its funny how Mom dresses up EVERY HALLOWEEN in Vampire Girl Outfits. That’s really all they know, and it would be weird now for her to switch into anything else.

I love my sister and her eccentric ways around Halloween. Heck, after all isn’t that what Halloween is all about…getting eccentric and making fun memories? I think so. Happy Halloween Everyone!

Would you make or buy your costume? How much do you enjoy creating your own costumes?

Sometimes this can be a tedious task but at the end of the day, it’s always a rewarding feeling. Others simply prefer to buy their outfits because it’s often easier and less of a hassle. I generally find my costume online because I simply can’t make my own clothes, although I’m sure it could be done with some focus and persistence.

Many people find it’s easier to get an outfit already made especially because there are so many new styles and trendy costumes around. One of my favorite outfits is the adult school girl costume, where girls, women and plus size adults can dress conservatively or somewhat of an edgier look. This type of costume can be made or purchased depending on the individual.

Each year Halloween comes and I get very excited about the holiday, for me Halloween is the very best holiday. I get to dress up in a fun Halloween costume, eat candy and treats and hang out with friends family … what ever.

Another reason I love Halloween so much is for the fact that I can watch scary movies like Frankenstein, Dracula and The Mummy, bottom line is that Halloween plain rocks, don’t you agree?

This year my wife and are are planning on dressing up in a fun couples costume, one idea I had was to dress up in a German costume. I know she would look great in a beer girl costume and what is great is that she could wear the costume in September during Oktoberfest!
