There was one year when I was about ten years old, I attended a Halloween party that the Church was sponsoring. One of my friend’s father was an electrical contractor and he made a robot costume that was out standing. The costume had lights and spinning wheels and looked like it was made out of some sort of metal. Back then Lost in Space had a robot and so did the Jetsons. Even Batman had a computer in the bat-mobile and bat-cave. You could not be a superhero without a computer or gadget of some sort. About the only Super Hero without a computer was Wonder Woman, but she did use a computer when she was working for the Department of the Navy. Anyway, at first my friend was so proud of his Robot Costume until he discovered he could not bend his legs enough to sit down. He tried to stay standing but the costume was hot and heavy and finally the costume had to come off. That was the Toughest Halloween Costume any of my friends ever had to wear.

When I was about 8 yrs old I won a Costume Contest as Super Man. No I was not a child body builder, That day I had fallen and sprained my left arm and I refused to miss the Halloween Party. So, my Mom put my costume on me and placed my arm in a sling. The judges voted me the most original costume while trying to conceal their laughter. One judge had to wipe his eyes before he presented me with my ribbon.

With all the different choices of witch costumes out there, I believe it can.
The witches have a better variety of colors and get to wear a funky hat. Vampires seem to focus mainly on red and black, but they do get to wear some really cool teeth. Don’t get me wrong, there are some pretty awesome vampires out there and I wouldn’t want to meet one face to face! Yikes, that makes me wonder, can a witch be turned into a vampire with just one bite? I will continue to watch the TV series The Gates to learn more. I love that show and have yet to see a witch, but the vampires do rock. Come to think of it, Devon is probably a witch, but I don’t know if they have actually come out and said it on the show. I do know that whatever she is, her intensions are not good. Now Peg on the other hand seems to be a good witch, but we will see.
When it all comes down to it, you might not like witches or vampires. That’s o.k. because there are many other adult Halloween costumes to choose from. My choice this year will be leaning toward a funny costume or a movie character costume. No matter what costume you pick, have a fun time!
For those that don’t mind admitting their age and can remember when Star Trek first hit our TV screens in 1966 it lasted through to 1969 and people were at the time on the edge of their seats watching each episode. The series was then turned into movies and when premiers were showing people turned up in Star Trek Costumes and were affectionately called “Trekkies”. Remembering now not only is it my generation a lover of anything Star Trek, I have children and grandchildren that love to get into the act and dress up as their favorite character.
