Only about a week or so left until the day when all bets are off. Who’s ready for the ghosts, goblins and spooks to emerge from the darkness? I know I am. This is the best day of the year if you ask me. Frolicking through the neighborhood in search of treats! What in the world is better than that? Okay, so I don’t exactly carry around a sack, but I take my daughter to dozens of doorsteps. Believe it or not, it’s actually more fun than when I trick-or-treated as a child.

She had been learning to love to dance by watching the Wiggles. They had a song in their concerts that featured ballet, and she loved this. She watched a DVD at a friend’s house that featured Barbie and the Twelve Dancing Princesses and was enchanted with what she saw. She asked for the dance mat for Christmas, and I thought it was more about the dancing than Barbie, but I’m not really sure any more. One day in the store we saw  female halloween costumes that must be from the Dancing Princesses, and because it was on sale, I got it for her.

She has loved that Barbie costume so much that I am sorry I didn’t get it for her sooner. I just had no idea she was that interested. She wears it all of the time, and she even wore the Barbie costume to the grocery store one night. My husband was not thrilled about it at first, but when he saw how happy it made her to tell everyone she was a princess that he decided that if she wants to wear it, there is certainly no harm in her doing so. She hasn’t asked to wear it to the store lately, but she has said she wants to take it with us on vacation this year.

If she still has a strong interest in female halloween costume ideas by Christmas time this year, I think I will see if I can find her a few more. I am certainly willing to buy her the things she is interested in having so that toys are not going unused. We’ve had enough of that in the past.

Barbie is a busy lady with careers, hobbies and a hectic social life. Her wardrobe is extensive, as shown in the Barbie Dress Up games. There are formal outfits, such as a purple satin gown and a faux fur trimmed cape. There are specialist costumes like the Barbie cheerleading outfit. Barbie still likes to look good when she is casually dressed, in jeans or shorts. She also looks great in sportswear and there is an extensive line of pajamas and nightgowns.
