Halloween is fast approaching and I for one get really excited about what costume to wear. It is really difficult to choose what exactly since there are so many outfits on the market to choose from these days. As I have always been a massive fan of history and Greek mythology I have decided to get myself a couple of Greek goddess halloween costumes and make my final choice from the two come the big day. I have always loved long, flowing white dresses with gold trimmings so I am really looking forward to being able to walk into a room wearing one as it only happens once a year. It’s a change from wearing my boring old Irish costume again which I wore at St Patricks.
It’s always difficult to decide exactly which outfit to wear at the best of times and I never know whet to choose come halloween. You just don’t want to be looking like just everyone else. you need to look different from the rest. I was at a party recently and dressed up as a potato, yes, a huge potato and my boyfriend wore a really cool top gun flight suit even though he doesn’t look anything like Tom Cruise but he was certainly different than all of the other guys. This year at halloween I have decided after all to buy a teen vampire costume as they look really spectacular when you get the whole package.
After thinking long and hard about what to wear for this coming halloween I have decided to dress up as John Travolta from the 70s movie, Saturday night fever because my girlfriend already has a funky disco outfit which would match my Tony Manero white suit. I had origionally thought about shopping around some old charity type shops for old seventies clothing bargains but it was actually going to work out more expensive than simply ordering a Saturday night fever costume online. Last year I dressed as Shrek and that was a real hoot but I have long been a big fan of the seventies disco fashion and can’t wait to get a cool outfit.
I dunno about you guys but I really enjoy halloween and each year my boyfriend and I try to make a big effort to out do our friends and look better in our fancy dress than anyone else so we end up buying the wigs, make up, hats and all accessories to go with our costumes. These little things really finish off the look and bring a bland costume to life. There’s no point in having a cool outfit without the little accessories to complete it. Last year I had a Greek goddess halloween costume which was very pretty all in white and gold although this year I have ordered some school girl halloween costumes for me and a friend which should please my boyfriend.
Since the very first time I saw the movie Avatar, I became completely hooked. I adored the whole concept of the film and the story line appealed to me greatly. I was so impressed that I decided to organise a themed party and everyone had to bring their own Avatar costume.
My own Avatar costume was delivered the very next day and looked really cool and I loved the blue skin with the black pattern, indigenous to the Navi tribe on planet Pandora.
I also managed to buy a fabulous Niytiri costume for my girlfriend and she looks fantastic wearing it. It is also the same shade of blue and black although her’s is skin tight and because she has a great figure it looks really sexy, even if she does have blue skin!
The Avatar costume party was a great success and everyone wore their cool costumes and stuff. Guests brought along all sorts of Avatar props like spears, black wigs and latex masks.
the girls looked great in their Avatar costume and they even wore blue makeup to match their outfits which was a really neat touch.
Some of the guys wore Jake Sully costumes with replica jacket and pants and some even had realistic tails attached for maximum effect.
We even ran the movie DVD in the background although I had seen it about seven times. I never get bored with it though.
The Avatar costume which I bought was really well made and fantastic value. It even came with it’s own garment bag to allow me to keep it in good condition for halloween and any other parties which I decide to have.
